Requesting An Appointment

Appointments are mandatory. Please do not bring cats to the clinic without one.
  • You may request appointments for up to two cats.
  • Requests remain open until the clinic is full.
  • Confirmed appointments are notified by email.
  • ​When the clinic is full, the request form closes and you’ll see a message like this:

We do not maintain a waiting list. ​If you need an appointment and we are unable to accommodate you, please refer to our Other Spay/Neuter Providers page.

Who Does NOT Need an Appointment

  • Volunteers working at the upcoming clinic
  • Caregivers who attended the previous clinic and requested an appointment for the upcoming clinic at that time

Cats Without an Appointment

​If you bring a cat to a clinic without an appointment, or if you bring cats in excess of the number you have appointments for, the following policies apply.
  • If it is determined that the clinic has the time and resources on hand to spay/neuter the cat, we will do so after surgeries for all cats with appointments have been completed.
  • A charge of $75 per cat applies to cover the cost of unexpected medical supplies, as these are limited.
  • The charge of $75 is payable immediately, before surgery.

Before the Clinic

  • Complete and sign the Release and Intake Form or the Release and Intake Form - Volunteers.
  • Weigh the trap when empty and write the weight on top with a permanent marker. The weight on the manufacturer's packaging is not always correct. 
  • Cats must weigh at least 3 pounds.
  • Cats must arrive in humane traps (no carriers).

When to Contact the Clinic Reservation Coordinator

Text or email the Clinic Reservation Coordinator as soon as possible, but no later than 9 PM Friday before the clinic, in the following circumstances:
  • if you will not be using some or all of your appointment(s) 
  • if someone else will transporting for you, provide the transporter's name

​Clinic Cancellation Policy

​The decision to cancel is made by the veterinarian in charge no later than the Thursday before the scheduled clinic. ​​If a clinic is canceled, caregivers with clinic appointments will be contacted by email.​​ It is the responsibility of each caregiver to check this website when there is any doubt about cancelation.

​Inclement Weather Policy: T
emperatures must consistently be above freezing for at least the 48 hours after the clinic (Monday & Tuesday) and ideally for 24 hours before the clinic (Saturday). If these conditions are not present, the clinic may be canceled at the discretion of the veterinarian in charge. Please check this website if there is any doubt about cancelation.

What We Provide

Every cat receives:
  • Full veterinary exam
  • Spay/neuter
  • Rabies and antibiotic shots
  • Flea, tick, and parasite treatment
  • Ear tip the left ear, which identifies them as being
  • TNVR’d
  • Ear cleaning, flea combing, light grooming
  • Treatment for minor medical issues​​

​What We Do Not Provide

Operation Catnip does not:
  • Trap cats for you or provide traps 
  • Sterilize owned pets or adopted strays
  • Accept cats/kittens for adoptions
  • Relocate cats
  • Release cats to animal control shelters
  • Participate in cat trapping for euthanasia
  • Routinely test for Feline AIDS or Leukemia​​
​The veterinarian in charge has full discretion as to which, if any, cats get tested at the clinic. Medical treatments will be humanely decided by the veterinarian. Our primary concern and focus is the overall welfare of the cat.
